Thanks to my little Blog Barrel.com widget (lower right corner of blog) I found Bryce Zabel's blog For What it's Worth. Bryce has an amazing post on the relative size of certain heavenly bodies. Pluto first caught my eye due to the recent debate about the introduction of some new planets (too bad he doesn't show how small Charon is!) but then it is something to see how small Earth is relative to Jupiter. (I guess Charon isn't so puny after all!)
Check out Bryce's post - the photos are striking!
hmm, BlogBarrell looks interesting...
have you gone on the record re: Pluto in or out? i'm on the 'demote' side, myself ;-)
you were right: nice post by Bryce.

Bryce comes off a a very reasonable person of liberal and Democrat persuasion. (See his posts under politics - especially statements about Iraq or Michael Moore vs Gore). We would have a great two party system if Democrats had this kind of base (adding Tom Barnett and Sean Meade) the current base is bad for the whole system. My prediction is that the embarce of extremist positions of the Left (ala Lieberman ouster) will drive out moderates and create a Republican split (along some divide over social/fiscal/foreign or domestic policy lines) that will serve the country as a positive force. The split will become our new two party choice and the Democrats with become marginalized (much like Naderites, Buchananites, etc).
